Goodshelter is an old farmstead on the edge of the Kingsbridge and Salcombe estuary, in six acres of sheltered valley that slope down through a field to 800 feet of private foreshore on Goodshelter Creek.
This booking takes in Apple Tree, Windfalls and the converted Boathouse, each with its own kitchen and living space, and The Love Shack, listed with Apple Tree: a double bedroom up a spiral staircase, with its own courtyard door and shower room. The cottages are alongside a courtyard shared with the owner's home. Apple Tree's living room has an open fire and a table for six, and The Boathouse's table seats four.
Dinghies are provided, at your own risk, for rowing round to the pub at South Pool when the tide allows, and there's a barbecue spot by the old lime kiln on the foreshore. The hamlet is a mile from East Portlemouth and the beaches at Millbay and Sunny Cove, where a passenger ferry crosses to Salcombe.
The bedrooms are in Apple Tree (with The Love Shack, a double bedroom with its own courtyard door), Windfalls and the converted Boathouse.
