Why group trips matter
A group trip gives you something everyday life rarely does: unhurried time with the people who matter most. You eat together, laugh together and have the conversations you can’t always fit into an evening at the pub.
Why they so often don’t happen
If you’ve ever organised a big group trip, you’ll know the pattern. Everyone gets excited, but then dates need to be agreed, budgets discussed, houses found and you have to keep everything moving without feeling like a nag.
Trips don’t stall because people don’t care. They stall because organising lands on one person while everyone else has busy lives and the decisions disappear into the group chat.
Flock exists to take some of that weight off. We want whoever’s organising to feel backed, with a clearer way to keep things moving and somewhere useful to find places that genuinely work for groups.

Why I’m building Flock
I’m Jasper, the founder of Flock, and most of my closest friendships have been shaped by the trips we’ve taken together. First trips became traditions, and some of those friendships are now well into their third decade.
I’ve been on at least 30 group trips and before Flock, I spent four years running Packed, working alongside hundreds of organisers through every part of arranging a group trip. The common thread running through all of them: getting a group away isn’t easy, even when everyone wants to go.
That experience taught me that the organiser rarely needs more enthusiasm from the group. They need somewhere useful to start and a clearer way to make decisions.
How Flock helps
First, we’re bringing group stays from across the UK into one useful place. You can save the promising ones to a shortlist, share it with your group and get everyone’s feedback without losing track of the options across a dozen open tabs.
But finding the stay is only part of the job. The Flock planning app helps your group agree dates, destination and budget, then keeps the decisions and useful group details, like dietary requirements, together so you don’t spend the next month repeating yourself.
We’re also exploring how Flock can take more of the follow-up off the organiser, including the awkward job of keeping track of who’s paid and what’s still outstanding.
Alongside the stays, you’ll find practical guides for the person bringing the trip together. They cover the decisions that tend to slow a group down, from choosing where to go and splitting costs to collecting deposits and feeding a crowd. I write them using first-hand group-travel experience and current research, so you’ve got a clearer way forward when the group chat goes quiet.
When you’re ready to book, you’ll do that directly with the owner or letting agency, who can confirm any property-specific details.
