About this property
Woodlands was built in 1905 as a country house. It sits at the end of a quiet road, a ten-minute walk from Giggleswick village, with the Yorkshire Dales National Park starting at the gates. Inside it keeps its period bones: a stone portico, a tiled hall and a staircase past a stained glass window, with rooms furnished in early twentieth century style.
There's plenty of room to spread out. The dining room has a 15ft oak table, a wood-burning stove and a piano, and the drawing room has an inglenook fireplace and views over the terrace to the Ribble valley. The billiard room opens onto the walled garden, the sitting room is a snug room with a brick fireplace, and the kitchen has a large gas range, two dishwashers and a pantry with more cooking space, which helps when everyone wants breakfast at once.
Outside there's a terrace, a couple of lawns, a barbecue and a croquet set, with tables and chairs for everyone. Settle is across the river, with pubs, restaurants, independent shops and a Booths supermarket.
