Westaway House

Westaway House is a substantial detached house in the hamlet of Trelights, just over a mile from Port Isaac, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are views over the coast and inland to Bodmin Moor, and the sunroom and five of the six bedrooms look out to sea.

A large entrance hall leads into the snug, which has a big corner sofa and a wood-burning stove. Double doors take you through to the kitchen, where the breakfast area opens onto an elevated deck. The dining table has six chairs and two benches and is described as seating everyone, and the sunroom, with two sofas and three armchairs, has its own door out to the garden.

From the deck, where there's a wood-fired hot tub for six, steps lead down to an enclosed lawn with flower beds. The pool is further down the garden: 11 metres long, solar-heated and open from Easter to October half term. Beside it, the pool house has a sofa, a wood-burning stove, a games table for pool, table tennis and air hockey, a shower room, and a mezzanine with some of the best views on the property. At the very bottom there's an outdoor wood-burning stove with seating round it.

Port Isaac, which plays Port Wenn in Doc Martin, has seafood shops, a good grocer, cafes, pubs, galleries and two Nathan Outlaw restaurants. The coast path to Port Quin is close by, and Polzeath's beach is about ten minutes away by car.
