About this property
The Rowe House was built around 1780, later became a shooting lodge and was a B&B from 1974. It keeps an Ingleton granite fireplace and a tall arched window on the stairs. Across the shared garden is The Shippon, a self-contained annexe with its own bedroom, living room and small kitchen, which comes with the house.
There are two living rooms with wood-burning stoves, a drawing room with a piano and a record player, and a snug set up for working. The dining room seats 16, and the kitchen has two ovens and a bean-to-cup espresso machine. The games room has a pool table, darts and a drinks fridge.
The enclosed garden looks out to Pen-y-Ghent and has a barbecue, a pizza oven and a hammock. Horton in Ribblesdale station is a 300-metre walk, with direct trains from Leeds and Carlisle, and there are two pubs in the village. The owners also run a small campsite next door.
The Shippon is a self-contained annexe across the garden from the main house, with its own bedroom, living room, small kitchen and ground-floor bathroom. The two buildings share the garden.
