About this stay
Exton Park, is nestled in a walled garden of a rural estate in beautiful Rutland. The site features six individual off-grid traditional safari tents; Moorhen, Coot, Teal, Kite, Cygnet and Osprey, each sleeping up to six guests. You have the option to book the entire site or choose from any of the six individual safari tents.
Lantern and Larks is an ideal destination for a family getaway, with each tent equipped with a spacious living area, cosy wood-burning stove, outdoor seating and comfortable bedrooms.
Each of our off-grid safari tents at Lantern & Larks accommodates six guests across three bedrooms. There is one king size room, one twin room and one bunk bedroom. Inside, there is an open plan living area with a spacious kitchen featuring a double gas hob, two cool boxes, a dining table, a comfortable seating area and a wood-burning stove.
Each safari tent also has its own private bathroom facilities with running water, as well as its own outdoor seating area with a firepit and unlimited logs included.
We provide rechargeable lanterns and hot water bottles to keep you cosy in the evenings - though it's always worth packing for a little bit of everything when it comes to British weather.
If the full site isn't showing available, you can check the individual listings, as some of the safari tents may still be available.
Mornings can begin with a trip to the local bakery, Hambleton Bakery where you can pick up fresh pastries, bread and hot drinks before heading out for the day. From there, you might choose to explore Rutland Water with its walking and cycling routes, watersports and nature trails, or simply stay close to site and enjoy a slower day outdoors.
There is plenty to enjoy back at the site too, from cooking, playing games on the grass or simply unwinding outside the tent. You can join in with the relaxed atmosphere of the site and chat with other guests or keep things completely to yourselves and enjoy the privacy of your own space.
We often find children especially love the simplicity of staying here, toast marshmallows, spot wildlife around the estate and spend long days outside without needing much more.
There is so much to do locally including water sports, fishing, golf and of course the many walks around Rutland Water reservoir.
